Abstract: Kleine und Mittlere Unternehmen (KMU) lagen
bei der Anwendung integrierter Informationmanagement-Strategien zurück.
Der Begriff Information Management wurde von vielen im Sinne von IT Management
gebraucht, was bedeutet, daß die Informations-Inhaltsdimension unterschätzt
wird. Dennoch offenbart die Verfügbarkeit der Internettechnologie
und ihr wachsender Gebrauch um Intranets aufzubauen den KMU, daß
Wissen ihr wertvollster Aktivposten ist. Die aktuelle Rolle von Unternehmensbibliothekaren
und –Dokumentaren wird mit zukünftigen Entwicklungen dargestellt.
